End of the permanent exhibitions in the Blattl's Comfort Aparthotels
From the New Year Blattl's Comfort Aparthotels realizes a new art concept.
The co-operation with the artist group PARADOX ends the 31th of december 1999.
In the name of the artist group PARADOX we thanks Mr. Gottfried Blattl and his teams very much for the good and friendly co-operation and wish them for the future every imaginable good.
 

28th of October 1999: exhibition opening in the Blattls Aparthotel Munich
The next opening of an exhibition of the artist group PARADOX in the ´Blattls Comfort Aparthotel Munich will be on the 28. Oktober ´99 at 18.30 o'clock.
For this occasion B.J. Antony will be in Munich from the 25. til the 29. october.
Titled "Jazz meets Art" the opening will offer a jazz band, a buffet with selected drinks and a winning game.
Announced are Wolfgang Semrau, Inge Scholz-Stephan und Benedict Hipp, too. They will show new works.

Announcement: Barbara Lorenz exhibits in Frankfurt
From the 08. until the 29. October the BBK-Gallery Frankfurt, Hanauer Landstr. 139, presents paintings, objects and sculptures of members of the BBK Stade/Cuxhaven.
From the BBK-Association Stade/Cuxhaven the artists Joachim Achterber, Mike Behrens, Christa Donatius, Herbert Eggert, Christian Goldberg, Michael Jalowczarz, Eva-Maria Jensch, hansartig, Barbara Lorenz, Ute Seifert, Ingeborg Dammann-Arndt and Hanneke van Spaendonck come to Frankfurt, to show their works.
That is a good chance to see the impressing wooden sculptures of Barbara Lorenz live!
The opening is on the 8th of October at 19 o'clock. Doctor Sabine Jung will welcome the visitors, Ute Seifert will introduce into the exhibition.
The exhibition is opened on Tuesdays from 18 to 21 o'clock and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sondays from 14 to 18 o'clock.

Jürgen Simons "Europa" in Berlin
Since the beginning of October the wooden sculpture "Europa" of Jürgen Simon is erected in Berlin, in front of Blattls Comfort Aparthotel in the Holländerstreet 31.
Sure the children of Berlin will have their fun with it !
Visitors of this 4,50 m high sculpture will have the opportunity to visit the actual exhibition of PARADOX members in the hotelfloors. The hotel is opened for visitors of the exhibition every day from 10 to 20 o'clock.

chinese artist Gu Yingzhi exhibits in the Gallery PARADOX in Lüneburg.

Announcement: Tadashi Endo - ButohMA workshop and performance
In the year 2000 again Tadashi Endo invites to a ButohMA dance workshop on the island Heligoland. The dancers will stay from the 15. till the 30. july.
The final public performance as the result of the workshop will take place the 29. july.
 

The 5. september 1999 at 19 o'clock the artist group PARADOX invites into the “Lobster Booth PARADOX” on the occasion of the raffle of a portrait, painted by Antony.
Raffled will be a portrait of own choice special made by B.J. Antony in his special mixed technique on wood.
The format of the painting 40 x 50 or 50 x 70 cm can be choosen by the winner.
In addition some new pictures of artists of the artist group Paradox can be seen.
 

Announcement: project "Art is an Island - 2. Art Summer Heligoland"
In the year 2001, when Heligoland celebrates with great extravagance his 175 year belonging to Germany, PARADOX will organize an extensive art festival on the island again.
The preparations are started. Soon more under "projects".

In the year 2002 or 2003 the artist group PARADOX is planning an art festival in cooperation with the chinese artist association Hua Cui Artist Community in Tianjin near Peking, a city with over a million people.

The proceeds are destined to colleagues who are having a bad time.

On the occasion of his 70. birthday Heinz Gerhardt Friese painted a cycle about the making of Europe, especially the "Euro". The cycle is a litte bit ironic, satirical, reaches from real European concerns up to abstractions of the "high finance", it includes more than 60 paintings and is called "Euromachie". From august 1999 on it can be seen in the Ministry of European Affairs, Potsdam, Germany.

For the august '99 for the "Lobster booth PARADOX" is planned an exhibition with paintings of the chinese painter Gu Yingzhi. In China her cat water-colours are famous.
Gu Yingzhi lives and works in Tianjin, near Peking as painter and president of the indepentend artist union "Hua Cui Artist Community" as well as of the only private artist academy, the Hua Cui Art School.
Not only cat lovers will be pleased by her paintings, which come directly from China to Heligoland.
The opening will be the 31. of july 99, 19 o'clock, together with the one-year-celebration for the gallery "Hummerbude PARADOX".
 

The 18. 03. 1999 was the last exhibition opening in the Blattl's Aparthotel Berlin, Holländer Str. 31, 13407 Berlin.
It became also a big artist meeting of the members of PARADOX. You could met Heinz-Gerhardt Friese, Kirsten Füllkrug, Gennadij Gorbatyi, Hugo Seegatz, B.J. Antony, Foltan Holm, Barbara Bieli and Ekkehard Stoevesand.

The december-leaf the the art calendar 1999 "masterpieces of contemporary art" of the "KUNST aktuell" was created by Hans Gerd Doneck. It shows his 1991 created painting "Ways in St. Petersburg".
