Concept for the art festival “Art is an Island”, Heligoland 1998

Bull group

Sylvia Reiser und Kai Georg Wujanz are planning a bull group at the south beach of Heligoland. The single bulls will be created of high-grade steel in lifesize, partial gold-plated on head and horns. The bulls will come as a herd out of the water, the first are on the beach, the last in the water.
 

There will be a fascinating interaction with the tide. At low tide the last bulls nearly stand free, at high tide the water will reach their necks. Influences by sea water, tide, wind and waves are planned and integrated.
 

After the exhibition the bulls can be bought, single or as group.

PS: After the exhibition the community of Heligoland bought the bull group. Now they have their place at the Augusta mole.
