On the first glance the paintings of Michael Krähmer effects fotografic. They are not pictures of visible reality, but returns meditative visions of the artist. Not the fotografic place of a landscape is meaningful, but its atmosphere, its mental effect for the observer. They are really consciousness landscapes, symbolic expression for spiritual experience.
The paintings invite to expose oneself to their cosmic silence, to bury oneself to their magic quiet. The look is lured into infinite, imaginative worlds and sometimes gates are opened to more light flooded, transzendental worlds.
The paintings are made in the time expensive oil glaze technique of the old masters. Until ten very fine transparent colour coats are layed one about the other. The creation of such a painting lasts approximately one month.
